The Chun Huei Week—Smoking Harm Prevention Achievements Exhibition lively took place in both the Exhibition Hall in the Business Building and Poster Street from Oct 28. to 31. President Flora Cha-I Chang praised the great effort of the Chun Huei Club in promoting a non-smoking campus by flexible and gentle advice to smokers and expected more achievements in developing a non-smoking environment.

Together with 7 other military instructors, Tai-jung Yu and 14 students were awarded for their good performance in promoting non-smoking environment on Oct. 29. The chief of the Chun Huei Club, Yu-xang Ma said, “Promoting non-smoking environment needs to keep the “Spirit of the Fool” because some student smokers are sometimes hostile to us. But we have never given up because of frustration by hostilities, rather we still persistently tell them the harms of smoking.” He thought students should first convince their friends to give up smoking, and then gradually ask smokers to smoke in designated areas in order to respect others’ rights. Moreover, the free health check on Oct. 30 also attracted many students to check if their body fat and blood pressure were normal.

In addition, the second contest for the “Sunlight Ambassadors” took place at Poster Street on Oct. 29. Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Po-yuan Kao, Section Chief of the Guidance Section, Student Affairs Office, Kao Yan-yu and the heads of the Chun Huei Club and some other student clubs signed “Anti-Smoking Declaration” and showed their strong determination by breaking huge props of cigarettes. Vice President Kao said, “Although one may not die of smoking, a smoker is sure to approach death faster. I hope every one will respect the others’ rights.”
The three selected “Sunlight Ambassadors” were respectively Management Sciences and Decision Making freshman Zi-chao Lin, Information and Library Science freshman Zi-han Jian and Japanese freshman Aili-ke Kuo. The most popular award went to Economics freshman Wei-ting Song while the award of the most confident went to International Trade freshman Xuan-han Li. Wearing a small suit with a lovely butterfly knot and a gentry hat, the index of the Sunlight of Zi-chao Lin was 100%, and he broke 4 boards in consecutive kicks in his powerful Tae Kwon Do performance that let everybody be dumbfounded. He happily said, “I haven’t expected to win the title of the “Sunlight Ambassador” this year, I will try to fulfill my obligation to propagate the importance of anti-smoking and anti-drugs.” The organizer of the activity, military instructor, Tai-jung Yu expressed, “We hope the three ‘Sunlight Ambassadors’ will vigorously propagate the harms of narcotic and cigarettes and help drive them away far from the campus.”
